Is there any value in Used Vehicle Trackers?

Hi all,

First post here so please be gentle.

We recently changed our fleet and at the same time our telematics contract ended so we defit approx 60 telematics kits from the cars that went back. These are a mix of Masternaut, Cellocator, Tracker, Etc. branded boxes and I'd like to know if there is any value in them and if so who would be the best company to approach to sell them to?

As an environmental company we would much prefer that this kit is repurposed rather than landfilled/WEEE'd for destruction so any information would be much appreciated.

Cheers

It would depend on whether the companies associated to the equipment would allow a person buying the kit second hand to activate it under a new contract or not.  With TomTom Link 300's a person could buy the device second hand, have it installed and would just need to take out a new Webfleet subscription through a TomTom business parter and they would be up and running.  Hope this helps.

I would agree with ABrown on this one, but it wouldnt do anyharm in contacting the previous providers and see if they would purchase the hardware from yourself as they may have a better route to market for you.
