Cars on Demand has been shortlisted in the Transformation category of the 2015 BiYInspired awards, run by Business in Yorkshire.

The category is designed to praise businesses that can demonstrate that they have successfully reacted to their market by transforming their product or service as a result of customer demand.

Cars on Demand, which launched in 2003 and specialises in short term vehicle leasing starting from 28 days, has been shortlisted following the company’s decision to franchise its operation in 2011 to capitalise on the growing demand for short term vehicle leasing across the UK.

The success of the franchise saw the business enjoy a 23% increase in new leasing contracts by the end of FY2014/15, with a turnover of £5million when combined with its franchised branches.

In addition to its Wakefield head office, the business now has two depots in Horsham and Silverstone, as well as locations in Exeter, London, Aberdeen and Belfast.

Cars on Demand owner director Paul Brown said: “We have worked hard to capitalise on the demand for short term leasing across the UK by franchising the business to ensure that we can service customers right across the country.”

He added: “Being shortlisted in these awards is fantastic, as it recognises the hard work and commitment of everyone in the business in ensuring that our franchise operation runs smoothly.”

Other shortlisted businesses in the Transform category include Leeds based Deans Computers and Circuit Electrical Testing, based in Halifax. The winners will be announced - alongside successful companies in a host of other categories – at a special awards lunch at The Queens Hotel, Leeds, on Friday, October 2.
