Alphabet has launched its updated mobile app, AlphaGuide.

The new version of the AlphaGuide app provides drivers and fleet managers with an important new tool for their business travel; putting key information and support at their fingertips and enabling them to make better, more efficient decisions on their personal mobility.

While the app useful for drivers of Alphabet vehicles, AlphaGuide is not limited to Alphabet customers, offering a series of useful features that appeal to any UK company car driver or any business traveller.

Key features include integration with a smartphone calendar, meaning that the app calculates an agenda of daily journey requirements based on diary appointments and their locations. It even tells users what time they need to leave to get to the appointment on time (or if they are running late!) and the best way to get there.

A mileage tracker feature in the app also helps company car drivers to track their business mileage for expenses and personal taxation purposes. In addition, the app identifies important points of interest based on current location or during the journey – such as the nearest Electric Vehicle charging station or tyre centre.

For Alphabet customers and drivers the app provides extra features in terms of vehicle, contract and service information, claims management in the case of an accident, as well as access to the 24 hours a day, 7 days a week driver hotline in case of emergency.

The new AlphaGuide app is also smartwatch enabled, supporting Apple Watch functionality. Integration with further Android smartwatches will be released later in 2016.

Mark Gibson, head of marketing and business development for Alphabet in the UK said: “This is really exciting news for Alphabet customers and drivers – as well as the UK’s company car drivers and regular business travellers. This app provides key information at your fingertips and useful tools as further demonstration of the ways that Alphabet is helping to support real world mobility requirements."

The new AlphaGuide app is available to download free of charge for Apple, Android and Windows Phone.
