SG Fleet has acquired the Motiva Group, provider of contract hire, short-term rental and fleet management services.
The acquisition follows that of Fleet Hire in August and builds further on the platform already in place. Together, Motiva, Fleet Hire and SG Fleet would now expect to rank within the FN50 top 20.
SG Fleet also operates in New Zealand and Australia, where is it listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
SG Fleet UK MD, David Fernandes, said: “Motiva is an excellent addition to our UK operations. It brings further skills in the specialist light commercial vehicle segment and daily rental operations as well as an increased footprint in the contract hire market.
“I am delighted that Peter Davenport has chosen to remain with the business and help deliver our strategic plans in the UK. Furthermore, we are very pleased with the acquisition of Fleet Hire and the progress on the integration to date.”
A week ago, the Fleet Hire and SG Fleet teams moved to one office in the Midlands at Hampton-in-Arden.
Peter Davenport, managing director of Motiva Group (pictured), said: “I am excited about taking the business forward and the investment SG Fleet brings.
“Their strategic plans in the UK presented an exciting opportunity for the team at Motiva and will add value to the service proposition for our customers.”
Fleet Hire chief executive, Graham Hale, echoed Davenport’s sentiments, adding: “Since joining the SG Fleet family in August, we have made significant progress with our customers and our product offering. Motiva will undoubtedly contribute and benefit further from this trend.”
Peter Wright and Matt Hill are also continuing in key roles at Motiva Group and, together with Peter Davenport, add further bench strength and knowledge to SG Fleet’s UK team.
