Total Motion has launched a new drivers’ app aimed at ensuring businesses are compliant with the law, as well as reducing costs and keeping employees safe and on the road.

Its new app features a vehicle defect reporting system that can be formatted for use on cars, vans or HGVs.

Drivers will also be able to report an accident and submit their mileage via the app.

Further benefits are available by using the app in combination with Total Motion’s telematics.

Repairs can be arranged en route via one of Total Motion’s network of service engineers or via a mobile repairer.

Simon Hill, managing director of the Leicester-based vehicle management company, said: “The launch of Total Motion’s drivers’ app has huge positive safety and compliance implications for our clients.

“The app gives us a permanent record of when and where a defect was reported – which means we can accurately track repairs and produce a full audit trail.

“And, because all the data is fed into our real-time live reporting system, it will be much easier to plan downtime for essential service users; speeding up repairs and saving our clients money.

“Compliance is a massive issue for our industry.

"Our app helps fleets meet the HSE’s rigorous standards and is fully compliant with VOSA/DVSA reporting requirements.”
