CitySprint has been awarded a new three-year contract with Norfolk County Council after being a preferred supplier of courier services to the council for the previous four years.

It was initially awarded a three-year contract with the local authority in 2005 before its contract was extended for a further year.

As a result of the new deal, CitySprint will continue to provide Norfolk County Council with courier services on a daily basis until 2012.

"CitySprint can help us achieve our environmental objectives by providing us with carbon reports which enable us to monitor the vehicles we are using for our courier deliveries, mileages and resulting C02 emissions,” explained Graham Abbott, contracts and purchasing officer at Norfolk County Council.

“It is then able to identify where we can reduce emissions and improve our carbon footprint through changing vehicles and consolidating journeys.”
