Nissan's view of the year ahead for fleet sales:

"We would expect to see the market in-line with this year or showing a small growth. We do not see a significant market recovery due to current economic indicators.

"However, we do not see any additional decline – a few areas of the market are showing positive signs and an increased stability over 2009.

"We have a very strong order bank going into 2010. We are constantly surprised by the seemingly ever-increasing demand for Qashqai. NV200 has a strong order bank, with high levels of interest from fleet customers and dealers alike.

"We will not be active in the rental arena – we will continue with our current strategy. Generally, we expect sales to increase due to new model launches – NV200, new Micra, BXover and a number of product refreshments. We see the leasing sector as an area of the market where with opportunity for 2010.

"Leasing companies are no longer extending contracts and are now actively encouraging companies to replace vehicles. We will be supporting the dealer network to a higher level in order to increase local business and fleet sales.
