Bosses, who attended a business seminar, are to review their road safety policies for company drivers to comply with recent legislation.

Their role and responsibilities were outlined to them by Simon Protano, head of corporate risk management at Shropshire’s TTC Group.

Business drivers have up to 40% more accidents than the average motorist, he told 15 senior managers responsible for fleets at the seminar supported by Midlands Excellence, which promotes the sharing of company good practice.

They heard how current health and safety law had been amended over the past year and how the Corporate Manslaughter Act was aimed at prosecuting organisations.
