Fleets can now record the speed, direction of travel and location of their vehicles on Google Earth with the launch of the Smart Witness vehicle journey recorder.

This new device uses GPS logging to provide fleets with data that enables them to monitor employee journeys and excessive speeding, acceleration and braking.

The Smart Witness Vehicle Journey Recorderacts like a Black Box for motorists, and is able to: provide evidence of what really happened in an accident, help to improve driver behaviour and provide proof against incorrect driving convictions.

The camera features a Standard DSP (Digital Signal Processing) chip which is optimised for road use and comes with an Automatic Electronic Iris to increase the image sensors performance.

This GPS version of The Smart Witness Vehicle Journey Recorder possesses a GPS Receiver built in. This allows the unit to record the speed, direction of travel and location (which can be reviewed using the free software supplied and Google Earth) and allows the unit to acts like a black box for motorists, allowing them to supply evidence in the event of a car accident or other event on the road.
