Online remarketing company Autorola has appointed Simon Wells to join its UK business development team in response to the growing appetite from dealers and fleets to include online selling as part of its overall remarketing strategy.

Wells joins from SMA where he was projects and infrastructure manager. Before that he spent six years with Manheim, including a three-year spell as auction centre manager at Colchester and a stint as manager of the Manheim 124-acre Dallas Fort Worth Auto Auction.

Wells will be responsible for further building Autorola presence in the dealer remarketing sector, in particular growing the Autofind stock locator system which has over 5,000 vehicles available for the 1,500 registered dealers to buy online.

He said: “Autofind has a huge USP in that it helps dealers turn over age stock that is gathering dust on the forecourt into a car that is attracting interest from 1,500 online trade buyers and which is being proactively marketed by the Autorola team.

“Combine this product with a growing interest from dealers buying and selling cars online Autorola is an interesting place to be in this current climate.”
