Martin Otter has been appointed by Trimble as its Business Development Manager for their insurance initiative covering Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Otter has over 10 years combined experience in the insurance and telematics industries and was involved in the recent Trimble announcement on its collaboration with Zurich, on its new, integrated fleet risk management programme called Zurich Fleet Intelligence.
Focusing on the specific needs of insurance companies for Trimble, Otter has responsibility for developing Trimble’s offer to the insurance market, building on his expertise within the insurance community in Pay As You Drive insurance (PAYD) and Fleet Telematics.
Otter said; “I am delighted to be joining Trimble at this exciting time. I believe the economic case for insurer adoption of telematics has never been stronger and Trimble has the global scale and range of solutions to match insurers’ needs.”
Before joining Trimble, Otter ran his own specialist consulting business focusing on telematics and insurance/risk management propositions. He was also an associate partner of PTOLEMUS Consulting Group.
Previously Otter worked for Norwich Union/Aviva most notably as head of operations for its Pay As You Drive Insurance and Fleet Telematics propositions. Otter was responsible for end-to-end service delivery from installation through to billing and data management.
