Infiniti has unveiled a concept car at the Geneve Motor Show that gives clues to the styling of a future compact model.

The Etherea measures 4.4 metres long - only slightly longer than An Audi A3 Sportback or Alfa Romeo Giulietta - and uses a four-cylinder engine-electric hybrid powertrain.

Currently the smallest Infiniti model is the BMW 3 Series-sized G line of saloons, coupés and convertibles.

Those models are currently only offered with a 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine, although four-cylinder diesel versions will be available later sourced from Mercedes-Benz.
