Citroën has committed to the London Mayor’s Office to provide a 'Go Green & Clean Allowance’ of up to £3,500 to help LCV operators affected by the 3 January 2012 changes to the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) scheme.

From 3 January 2012, the LEZ scheme will include; larger vans between 1,205kg unladen weight and up to 3,500kg gvw; minibuses of less than 5,000kg gvw; ambulances and motorcaravans, all registered before 1 January 2002, which do not meet Euro 3 emissions standards. In April, the registered keepers of the vehicles potentially affected by the extension of the LEZ scheme will receive a letter from Transport for London (TfL). This will notify them of the changes, which will prevent them from using their vehicles in the LEZ, unless they pay a charge of £100 per day.

Scott Michael, Citroën UK’s commercial vehicle operations manager, commented; “The award-winning Citroën LCV range is one of the greenest and cleanest available in the UK, with low CO2 emissions from just 109g/km and exceptional fuel efficiency of up to 68.9 mpg. The new Citroën ‘Go Green & Clean Allowance' is yet another practical demonstration of the brand’s affordable, environmental policy. It provides a subsidy of up to £3,500 towards a new, low emission, fuel efficient Citroën LCV and plays an important part in supporting TfL’s London air quality improvement programme, while customers benefit from greater operational, financial and efficiency gains.“

The Citroën ‘Go Green & Clean Allowance' of up to £3,500 towards a new Citroën LCV is available to any operator who can produce the above letter from TfL, referring to a vehicle that was registered before 1 January 2002 and which has a current Vehicle Excise Duty licence and an MOT.

Effective from 1 May 2011, the Citroën ‘Go Green & Clean Allowance' will provide these operators with:

£1,750 towards a new Nemo LCV
£2,500 towards a new Berlingo LCV
£2,500 towards a new Dispatch Combi
£3,500 towards a new Dispatch LCV
£3,500 towards a new Relay LCV
