The employees of Zenith Provecta have raised more than £1,100 for the automotive industry charity BEN.

BEN is the UK’s only charity for those who work, or have worked, in the automotive and related industries, as well as their dependants.

It provides a wide range of different types of support for people within the industry, such as helping with the cost of specialist disabled equipment for children, or emotional support in times of need. The potential number of beneficiaries who are eligible for BEN’s support is estimated to be four million.

The event was in aid of National BEN Week celebrating the charity’s 106th birthday and the day involved several fundraising events including a barbecue, quiz, raffle and an auction selling off unused IT equipment to employees, such as laptops and desktop computers.

Ian Hughes, commercial director of Zenith Provecta, said: “BEN is our nominated charity for this year and we will be holding several fundraising events to help support them and the fantastic work that they do. It was a pleasure to raise money for the charity and we look forward to holding further events throughout the year.”
