Activity levels were at a record high across the entire SMA Vehicle Remarketing business in January, with the auction network and on-line services all recording strong demand.

The SMA business has seen a growing trend in both buyer and vendor activity over the last four months and it reports a strong demand for stock at the start of the year as buyers look to increase stock levels into the new year.

Managing director Bob Anderson said: “There has been a tremendous effort across the business to increase vendor activity over recent months in response to strong levels of buyer demand.

“A number of recent auctions have achieved 100% conversion levels, which clearly indicates the interest in well-prepared stock. The results of recent auctions continue to show that preparation is clearly important to both conversion levels and price with vendors using our on-site preparation facilities gaining a valuable edge that we can really measure”.
