Mobility hire specialists Adapted Vehicle Hire and Paralympic gold medal prospect Matt Whorwood, have teamed up to launch I-drive, a new information resource for the disabled community.

Designed specifically for disabled motorists and carers, I-drive provides a range of information, support and advice to help empower people to remain mobile and increase their independence.

Accessed via the Adapted Vehicle Hire website, www.adaptedvehiclehire.com, I-drive will cover topics from transport and travel, holidays and leisure, to mobility news and products and will feature a regular blog where people can share their experiences and stories of living with disabilities.

Matt, 22, has been selected to swim for Great Britain at the Paralympic Games in August this year where he will compete in up to five events including his main event the 400m freestyle.

He won two bronze medals at the Beijing Paralympics and is expected to improve his tally this summer.

He said: “I am supporting Adapted Vehicle Hire and I-drive because I believe very strongly that keeping mobile and being able to access the places and services that able-bodied people take for granted is vitally important for the disabled community.

“Adapted Vehicle Hire is providing a valuable service to help disabled people regain their independence, and I’m happy to spread the word and let people know about them.”
