Following a vote by staff, Thrifty Car & Van Rental is pleased to announce that the company has chosen NSPCC and Hospiscare as its 2012 national and local charity partners.

Helping to raise significant funds for both charities, Thrifty is organising a range of activities throughout the year as well as donating £1 for every rental through its website, to its charity fund which will then be split between the charity partners.

Linda Paul, director of central services for Thrifty Car & Van Rental, comments: “It was our staff who decided on our charity partners following a vote and everyone is delighted to be fundraising for two such worthy causes. Everybody will be getting into the charitable spirit this year by taking part in dress down days and holding raffles. By pulling together as a team, we hope to raise a significant amount of money which will make a huge difference to everyone involved with and benefitting from Hospiscare and the NSPCC.”

Hospiscare PR and marketing officer, Marc Astley, adds: “Thrifty has been a wonderful partner and we are extremely grateful that they have agreed to continue to support our charity. Not only have the Thrifty team raised lots of money that will help patients and their families with end of life care, they have also supplied Hospiscare with a number of vehicles that help us to transport donated items to our chain of shops across Devon.”

Geraldine Harmon, corporate business manager for the NSPCC, said: “I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Thrifty Car & Van Rental for choosing the NSPCC as their 2012 national charity partner. Without the support of companies such as Thrifty, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue to run our services to help those children affected by abuse and neglect. We can’t wait to hear all about the companies fundraising events as we work closely with them throughout the coming year.”
