Green Motion’s master UK franchise territory has been acquired by Local Car and Van Rental (LCVR), a specialist supplier of goods and services into the UK daily rental industry.

Green Motion was officially launched in the latter part of 2007 and has steadily developed a strong network with locations supporting the majority of the UK’s premier airports and metropolitan centres.

LCVR, which was founded in 2006, already operates a vehicle rental fleet in excess of 1,800 vehicles via a licensee network of more 100 branches. LCVR will operate the Green Motion UK master franchise via its subsidiary company Green Motion Car and Van Rental Limited.

Adrian Woods has been appointed managing director. He has more than 40 years of experience in the vehicle rental industry, having successfully run his own vehicle rental company ‘Woods Car Rental’ which built up a substantial fleet prior to its sale to Budget Rent A Car.

Also on the management team is Sian Marston who has taken up the position of operations director. Marston has 27 years of rental experience (11 years with Budget Rent A Car and 16 years working at a very senior level within Thrifty, and also operating her own profitable Thrifty Car Rental Franchise).

As a result of the sale of the UK master country franchise, Richard Lowden - the founder and chairman of Green Motion - and the Green Motion international management team will maintain their focus on the onward development of the Green Motion brand worldwide, adding further countries to the existing international network of Mexico, Malta, the Netherlands and Italy.
