Motorbodies Ltd has joined the Fix Auto accident repair centre group.

Motorbodies, a flagship repair centre and car dealership for Vauxhall Motors since the early 1960s, operates a 10,500 sq ft state-of-the-art repair centre which will become Fix Auto Luton.

While operating a highly successful and efficient centre which repairs more than 2,000 vehicles each year, Motorbodies owner and Dealer Principal Nigel Gray says he has joined Fix Auto UK in order to ’future proof’ his bodyshop operation.

Mr Gray said: “We have a very successful bodyshop with a desire to take this aspect of our business to an even greater level.  Having operated our dealership within a franchise model for a number of decades, I can totally relate to Fix Auto UK’s philosophy of ensuring their approved accident repair centres remain profitable in order to sustain a strong UK network. With their forged relationships and connections with large insurance companies, we are keen to be part of this positive and ongoing evolution.”

Purpose built in 2005, the Vauxhall-approved Dallow Road repair centre has the capacity to repair 70 vehicles each week, features 22 bays and has a team of 16 headed by Operations Director Rachel Parker and Bodyshop Manager Paul Vyse whose team includes two receptionists, two VDAs, five highly experienced painters and four panel technicians and one mechanical technician.

Ian Pugh, managing director at Fix Auto UK, said: “Motorbodies is a hugely successful and efficient operation and yet clearly values the strides we are making within the industry.  This is the fourth dealer-owned bodyshop – after Brighton, Northallerton and Glastonbury – to join the Fix Auto network, which both reflects the value that our proposition brings to any forward-thinking bodyshop business, and demonstrates that our operating model enables us to successfully manage our repair network irrespective of an individual business’ ownership structure.  I’m delighted to welcome Nigel, Rachel, Paul and their team onto the Fix Auto Network, and very much look forward to a long and successful future together.”

Fix Auto Luton will be officially welcomed on to the Fix Auto network in front of 170 delegates during the business’ two-day National Conference taking place next week at the Forest of Arden Hotel in the Midlands.
