Days Contract Hire has integrated new internet-based technology to deliver improved efficiencies to the business and increased levels of management reporting to clients.

The firm has chosen to introduce Jaama’s Key2 leasing and vehicle management system.

Days Contract Hire, which manages a fleet of around 10,000 company cars, commercial vehicles and trailers, is a member of the privately-owned Days Motor Group.

Group IT manager Neil Williams explained: “Our previous system provider was not able to invest in the technology and the functionality we required to enable us to grow our business

“We surveyed the market and were resolute that Jaama’s Key2 system offered immediate benefits and critically, the company’s policy of continued investment in technology meant that it would support the development and launch of new products and services in the future that will help the business expand.”

Days Contract Hire’s relationship with Jaama began in 2009 when it introduced the driver licence validation service provided by the technology specialist.

Days Contract Hire continue to use Jaama’s electronic driver entitlement checking service (EDECS); however the introduction of Key2 has seen the company introduce a wide range of additional services including: vehicle quotations, vehicle ordering and management, driver management, accounts and client billing.

Mr Williams said: “Until the introduction of Key2, our fleet clients had to request management information from ourselves. We would produce those reports manually but the data was not ‘live’ nor in such detail as now.

“Clients, via their own ‘Dashboard’, now have direct online access to a suite of reports which provide, in real-time, comprehensive information on every conceivable issue relating to their vehicles and drivers.

“The quality and quantity of data that Days Contract Hire can now provide is market-leading thus delivering significant benefits to clients. Key2 also delivers major administrative efficiencies internally and improved visibility of the wide range of assets that we own.”

Mr Williams concluded: “Implementation of Key2 has given Days Contract Hire an industry-leading platform through which we can introduce exciting new products and services, further drive cost-saving efficiencies and compliance for our clients.”

Jaama managing director Martin Evans said: “Key2 is unquestionably the system of choice for small and medium-sized vehicle contract hire and leasing companies and places them on a level playing field with the industry’s largest organisations.

“An increasing number of smaller vehicle leasing and fleet management companies, such as Days Contract Hire, are finding that they can compete with larger competitors by forming business technology partnerships with Jaama, which understands their individual business requirements and provides appropriate solutions.

“As Jaama’s Key2 system is so technically advanced and configurable it negates the requirement to spend vast amounts of time and financial resource developing in-house systems.”
