A new team of account managers is being recruited to bring a “human touch” to Epyx’s 1link Disposal Network e-commerce platform.

They will promote car and vans sales by fleets and other vendors who use the platform and also inform potential trade buyers about stock in which they may be interested.

David Goodyear, business development manager, said: “We expect the vast majority of traffic through 1link Disposal Network to continue through normal online and mobile web channels.

“However, we have been aware for some time that there is room within in our service provision to add what you might describe as a human touch. The motor fleet and motor industries are very much about personal relationships and there are some vendors and buyers who will always be more comfortable about speaking with a person.

“The new account manager team will provide this. It will supplement the technology in the platform, which has been developed over the course of a decade, with the kind of interactions that can only come from one person speaking with another.

“So, while the platform itself is excellent at matching vehicles for sale with potential buyers, some of those buyers will be much happier being told about them by one of our account managers over the phone. It adds an extra layer of accessibility.”

The first appointments to the new team are just starting to take place and their names will be announced in the New Year.

Goodyear added: “The people who we are recruiting will have strong motor industry backgrounds and will provide a high level of on-the-ground support to fleets, trade vendors and buyers.”

1link Disposal Network is used by major fleets to manage online the selling of defleet stock to traders and dealers through a wide variety of channels including online and auctions.
