Hyundai  has posted it’s best-ever quarterly results in corporate sales in the UK following record sales in the first three months of 2014, and has appointed a new national fleet sales manager.

For the first quarter of 2014, Hyundai fleet sales grew by 15% versus the same period in 2013 with just over 11,800 units sold – the best-ever sales quarter for the brand in fleet. March in particular was a significant month with a 30.4% increase in sales (7,589 units sold) compared with March 2013 in fleet.

Hyundai has also  appointed Paul Williams (pictured) as national fleet sales manager, promoting him from his previous position as fleet operations manager at Hyundai, begins his new role with immediate effect.

Martin Wilson, fleet director at Hyundai, said: "Hyundai’s positive start to the year is testimony to the brand’s strategy of delivering total customer value throughout the buying and ownership process.

"Our brand has increased sales in key channels with true fleet sales up by 24% year-on-year and Motability up 17% year-on-year too.

"In addition Hyundai has seen a tremendous improvement in sales through the franchised dealer channel with a 21% increase for the quarter versus 2013. For 2014 our goals are to drive down the cost of ownership, raise standards in terms of services and specialist personnel and improve overall customer loyalty.

"Hyundai’s fleet sales operation has undergone significant change over the last three years thanks to the launch of several new products. Paul’s appointment in this key role is evidence of Hyundai’s desire to expand its Fleet sales operations and standards even further.
