Hertz has renewed its contract with Paragon Automotive as its sole supplier for defleet and branch to branch transportation services across the UK.

The contract will see Paragon handle in excess of 37,000 vehicle movements a year, which is an increase of more than 30% on the existing transportation work.

Paul Sykes, European sourcing manager at Hertz, said: “Following a detailed selection process we have awarded the business to Paragon as it demonstrated that it has the scale, technology and a culture of innovation to meet our needs."

Paragon will seek to re-engineer the movement of vehicles around the UK to create a more efficient service. Through iSight, a tailored automotive logistics platform and field based technology, Paragon will provide real time delivery tracking to ensure optimum management of vehicles.

Mike Pilkington, managing director at Paragon Automotive said: “Hertz is a fantastic brand that demands an innovative approach to the management of its vehicles at de-fleet and between branches. We have deployed the latest technology to ensure we deliver efficiencies that benefit the bottom line and the environment.”
