Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has struck a new vehicle deal with Zip Heaters to supply the business with a fleet of new Transporters.

Zip Heaters supplies instant boiling water systems, with clients operating in all areas of the catering business – from schools and hospitals, to cafes and tea-rooms.

To meet increased demand for its innovative systems, the Australian firm is set to take delivery of 45 new Transporters over the next three years, which will be used by service and installation engineers.

The agreement will see Zip update and extend its existing fleet of 58 Volkswagen commercial vehicles to cover business expansion and ongoing fleet replacement.

The firm has ordered high-specification Trendline models, complete with DSG transmissions on every model.

David Durance, technical support manager at Zip Heaters, said: “As a company that sells high quality products, we required a fleet of vehicles that are befitting of this image.

“The Volkswagen Transporter not only offers an excellent load capacity but also has a reputation for being a stylish, high quality and efficient product, which matches our own brand image perfectly.

“Our vehicles are also equipped with the DSG gearboxes, which is a real benefit for our engineers that are in these vehicles every day travelling across the UK.”

Chris Black, head of fleet at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles UK, added: “We’re delighted to continue our relationship with Zip Heater.

“The Transporter is the perfect vehicle for a firm such as Zip Heaters. It provides ample space for cargo yet has been designed to be easily manoeuvrable to take the effort out of driving and parking – a real benefit for any driver who is constantly in and out of the van.”
