Ford and AA DriveTech are to deliver improved off-road driver training opportunities to Ranger owners.

After first putting their own Ranger sales executives through driver training, dealers will be able to offer both potential and existing Ford Ranger owners the chance to take 4x4 training with leading provider, AA DriveTech.

The training, which can be anything from fun days to serious off-road training, will give people the chance to drive a Ford Ranger under the guidance of a specialist 4x4 AA DriveTech trainer, in both on and off-road conditions.

Steve Dethick, AA DriveTech’s technical sales manager, said: “We are delighted to be working with Ford Motor Company and its dealers to make this training offer available and are really looking forward to demonstrating the Ranger’s capabilities to interested customers.

“The dealer’s trained sales executives will be able to give customers even greater insight into the vehicle and ensure the very best technical knowledge is given to the buyer.”

The programme is due to start with three training events for dealers in February 2015 and will form part of an ongoing initiative from AA DriveTech to support Ford dealers with events and training.

Events for customers will begin once the dealers’ training is completed.

Mark Easton, LCV product marketing manager, Ford, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our dealers and their customers to gain greater knowledge of the Ranger’s capabilities, and we believe that AA DriveTech are the ideal partner to deliver this valuable service”.
