Thrifty Car and Van Rental has been recognised by Nexus for its outstanding service and achievements by being awarded Nexus’ Best Overall Supplier 2014 and Best Contribution to a Partnering Relationship.

Steve Sandford, director of rental operations, said: “We are thrilled to receive these awards from Nexus. This is a great achievement and we are proud to be recognised for our hard work and dedication.

“Customer service is at the forefront and very heart of what we do. This is driven throughout the business by an ethos that the customer truly does come first and that we embrace the customer at every touch point of the rental – from booking to delivery/collection, invoicing and even post rental communication.

“Winning these awards would be impossible without the dedicated team at Thrifty who take enormous pride in everything we do and these awards are testament to their commitment and diligence.”

Yvonne Findlay, head of supply chain at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “We were delighted to present Thrifty Car and Van Rental with both the Best Contribution to a Partnering Relationship and Best Overall Supplier at the first Nexus Supplier Awards.

“The effort and commitment to customer service demonstrated by all teams within Thrifty Car and Van Rental was instrumental in ensuring that they consistently achieved the highest score within their category of supply.

“In addition, we were impressed by their willingness to adopt a partnering approach and act upon the data generated from the Nexus supplier performance management system within our Intelligent Rental Information System - IRIS.”

Introduced in 2014, the supplier management module monitors a range of criteria to assess supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.

Data for each award category was collated across 145,000 bookings between October 2013 and September 2014, with suppliers scored on three main categories; contract compliance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
