Quentin Willson, one of the UK’s best-known motoring faces, will be chairing a special forum on electric vehicles (EVs) and low emission fleets on June 16 at Company Car in Action at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire.

As one of the leading motoring commentators, Wilson has been a long-term champion of EV and low emission vehicles and advises the Government and ministers on transport policies. He is also involved with the Go Ultra Low Campaign, a national campaign to provide a central hub on ultra-low emission vehicles and to demonstrate choice available for motorists (www.goultralow.com).

Speaking about the campaign at Company Car in Action, a spokesperson for Go Ultra Low said: “The aim of the Go Ultra Low campaign is to help fleet decision-makers and company car drivers understand the benefits, cost savings and capabilities of the variety of new ultra low emission vehicles on sale in the UK today.

“The Running a Low Emission Fleet debate at Fleet News Company Car in Action provides an ideal opportunity for people to come and find out more.”

Wilson will be joined by Dr Aman Dhir, hydrogen and future fuels specialist, Birmingham University, Graham Telfer, fleet manager, Gateshead Council and Hamish Phillips, head of vehicle innovation & marketing and communications director, Green Tomato Cars.

The panel members will provide an update on the latest developments on low emission vehicles.

The session will also offer practical steps to help  fleets cut their CO2 emissions, as well as demonstrate the real opportunities to reduce fleet running costs and the tax businesses and  drivers pay.

Stephen Briers, Fleet News editor in chief, said: “Running a green fleet isn’t just about doing your bit for the environment or fulfilling the company’s corporate and social responsibility policy.

“Increasingly, implementing a low-emission strategy makes considerable financial sense.  A low emission fleet is about making the best, most cost-effective financial decisions for your business.”

Company Car in Action will celebrate its 25th anniversary when it returns on June 16 and 17 to Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire.
