Staff from Motiva Group are preparing to take on the Potteries Marathon.

The dozen are warming up for the Potteries Marathon, which returns after a 10-year hiatus on Sunday, July 5, in support of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

Three relay teams from the Stoke-on-Trent company will bid to complete the gruelling 26.1-mile race around their home city.

Customer services manager Peter Clarke will lead the group, alongside sales and marketing director Peter Wright.

Group credit and risk manager Kirstie Jones, organising the marathon effort, said: “We raised around £5,000 in the Potters Arf last year, but now we’re taking on the full marathon so we’re looking to go well past that figure.

“The Douglas Macmillan Hospice is an amazing local charity that we’re sure has supported every one of us at some point in our lives either through family, friends, colleagues or neighbours.

“So we’re proud to be raising funds for a charity that’s such a cornerstone of our local community.”

Chris Root, fund-raising manager for the Blurton-based hospice, said: “We’d like to thank the team at Motiva Group for their tremendous support in this year’s Potteries Marathon.

“It’s going to be an extreme challenge and we wish them all the best.”
