Yorkshire-based vehicle solutions group AMT has appointed Anjana Athanikar as social media executive, the fourth appointment to its growing marketing team in the past 10 months.

Based at the company’s Leeds headquarters, Anjana has an MA in public relations and strategic communications from Leeds Beckett University.

In her new role, she will be responsible for developing and implementing the social media strategy for the entire AMT Group comprising vehicle rental, contract hire and leasing and specialist car sales divisions, and maximising the company’s profile within the corporate and leisure markets.

Athanikar will be working alongside the group’s in-house team comprising marketing designer Emma Garlick and search engine optimisation executive Mike Osolinski, both of whom joined AMT earlier this year following the appointment of Heather Thompson as marketing manager last September.

“It’s been an extremely busy year for us with AMT undergoing a complete rebrand, the launch of new websites for the group’s three divisions as well as developing marketing collateral, introducing a PR strategy and implementing a complete new digital programme,” said Heather Thompson, who leads AMT’s marketing team.

“We’ve already made huge progress in building awareness of AMT as a provider of complete rental, contract hire and vehicle sales solutions to personal and corporate clients as we continue to open new locations throughout the UK.  Anjana is a welcome addition to the team; her skills will help us to engage with customers and establish strong, long term relationships as the company continues to expand.”

Established in 1995, AMT Group moved to a new head office on Armley Road, Leeds, just over a year ago following a £2 million investment and now has fleet of more than 1,500 prestige and specialist vehicles.

The privately-owned business has eight vehicle rental locations from Edinburgh to the south east and employs 190 staff around the UK, including 65 in Leeds.
