Teletrac Navman is to support road safety charity, Brake, as corporate donors, to coincide with national Road Safety Week.

The collaboration with Brake represents the first stage of Teletrac Navman’s campaign to improve road safety amongst fleet drivers, through the use of increased monitoring and technology.

Peter Millichap, director of marketing at Teletrac Navman, said: “Our customers use telematics software for a variety of reasons, but safety concerns are a high priority for many fleet managers.

“Many of our clients are using Director in a number of innovative ways, such as creating geo-fenced locations around schools to ensure their drivers are particularly careful whilst in the area.

“Businesses have a duty of care to their employees as well as the general public to ensure their vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, and are driven safely at all times whilst on the road.

“Teletrac Navman advises its customers on best practice and how to remain compliant within the law, but we also want to support charities such as Brake, who undertake a great deal of work to improve safety for all road users.”

Abi Smith, corporate fundraiser at Brake added: “Brake is delighted that Teletrac Navman has chosen to support us, as part of their wider commitment to road safety.  As part of our work to raise road safety awareness, we work closely with fleet operators to improve the safety of at-work drivers; it’s very encouraging that Teletrac Navman are also working towards the same aim.

“Teletrac Navman has joined us at the start of our national Road Safety Week, which raises awareness of road risk amongst all road users; Road Safety Week will act as the perfect springboard for Teletrac Navman’s fleet safety awareness raising campaign.”
