SMH Fleet Solutions is investing £16 million in a new vehicle refurbishment centre at Thurleigh in Bedfordshire.

The new 40,000 square foot facility will provide vehicle inspection, repair, logistics and refurbishment, as well as secure storage space for 4,500 vehicles.

It is anticipated that up to 200 new jobs will be created.

SMH Fleet Solutions has been proving services to the fleet and leasing industry for more than 25 years and has five locations strategically positioned around the UK.

Commenting on the investment, Martin McAuley, managing director at SMH Fleet Solutions, said: “Our investment is a reflection of the confidence and commitment that we have in the fleet business in the UK."

The new SMH Fleet Solutions vehicle refurbishment centre is schedule to become fully operational by October this year.

The building work is being undertaken by G F Tomlinson Construction on the 29-acre Thurleigh Airfield site, situated just north of Bedford and close to main road links.
