Corporate vehicle rental provider Nexus Vehicle Rental has launched a fund-raising partnership with St Gemma’s Hospice, Yorkshire’s largest hospice.

Staff from the Leeds-based business will be raising funds through a variety of activities and at several events including the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, a golf day at Moor Allerton Golf Club, a 10-mile rowing challenge across Lake Windermere and running the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k in July.

A newly-formed Nexus charity committee will be working closely with St Gemma’s to coordinate the events throughout the year after the charity was chosen through a vote by Nexus staff.

St Gemma’s Hospice offers expert care, tailored to the needs of individual people, at no charge and relies on community support and donations to help raise around £9 million each year to keep the service running. Last year, it received almost 2,000 referrals for patient care in Leeds.

David Brennan, CEO at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “We’ve chosen to support a crucial local charity close to home and we hope this partnership will make a positive difference to both St Gemma’s and the community.

"The hospice is the largest in Yorkshire and one of the largest in the country – it does an incredible job so it’s essential they are provided with all the support possible.

“We’ve got a hectic schedule of events planned and we’re hoping to have some fun along the way while raising vital funds to help St Gemma’s continue to give the very highest standards of care to all patients.”
