Campbells Prime Meat, a speciality provider of fresh meat, fish and delicatessen products, has taken delivery of 18 new temperature controlled vans from Ryder.

The 3.5-tonne Mercedes-Benz Sprinters are replacement vehicles for Campbells’ 65-van fleet.

They will operate out of the company’s Linlithgow location.

Campbells serves customers across the food service industry, including chefs and kitchens, speciality restaurants and hospitality companies across Scotland and the North of England. Most of its produce is sourced locally from Scottish farms.

The company’s next-day delivery service guarantees that any food ordered before midnight will arrive at the customer outlets in time for lunch service the following day.

Stephen Sweeney, finance director at Campbells, said: “Our relationship with Ryder stretches back 26 years for one simple reason: the continuing high quality of service.

"Ryder has taken full charge of our maintenance schedule; its technicians pick up the vans and service them out of working hours, which minimises the risk of downtime.

“Ryder’s comprehensive breakdown cover and on-tap supply of replacement vehicles gives us additional peace of mind. It enables us to focus on getting out on the road, providing the best possible service to our customers.”
