Company Car In Action kicks off next week with almost 300 vehicles available to drive and more than a dozen making their UK debut at the event.

It will be the first opportunity for fleets to get up close to the new Toyota CH-R, Infiniti QX30 and Seat Ateca, as well as the first opportunity to drive the new Volvo S90, Ford Edge, Volkswagen Tiguan and many more.

The event, at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire, on June 14-15, will provide fleet decision makers with an unrivalled opportunity to test vehicles back to back on one or more of the venues routes.

Attendees will have the freedom to drive unchaperoned, but with access to manufacturer representatives to ensure they understand various vehicle features before being handed the keys.

Millbrook was purpose built for evaluating road vehicles, and, unlike a racing circuit, provides a range of routes designed to appraise specific aspects of the driving experience.

A twisty hill route provides an ideal environment to test handling and responsiveness of the steering, engine and brakes. A high-speed bowl allows drivers to travel at up to 100mph to assess comfort at motorway speeds, including noise intrusion from wind, engine and tyres.

A city course is a low-speed environment designed to test manoeuvrability and agility in urban environments or when parking. There is also an off-road course, which will be available to a number of 4x4 vehicles for testing.

Away from Millbrook’s courses, visitors will be able to take part in two debates – one for each day of the event.

The ACFO fines debate will be on June 14 at 10.30am, looking at how companies can reduce costs incurred by drivers being fined, and how leasing companies could help fleets resolve issues.

The second debate, on June 15 at 10.30am, will weigh up keeping aspects of fleet management management in house versus outsourcing.

Attendees will also be able to pit their residual forecasting knowledge to the test with Glass’s, and have the chance to win prizes. Members of the Glass’s team will also be available throughout the event to answer specific residual values questions.

You should have received your driver guide in this week’s Fleet News that gives you all the information you need for the event. If you are a fleet operator and haven’t yet registered for your place then please click here.
