Volkswagen Group UK has appointed Nithia Pillay as its new group aftersales and customer quality director.

The position was previously occupied by Alison Jones, who moved to take on the role of Volkswagen UK brand director in July.

Pillay has been with the global business for 12 years and moved to the UK to take up his new position from Kassel, Germany, where he previously led the Sales Channel Development division in group aftersales.

He has an extensive background in Sales and Aftersales in the areas of Fleet Sales, Marketing and Parts Planning in Volkswagen Group in his native South Africa.

His early career was spent working with Shell SA and the South African National Oil Company, in Sales and Marketing capacities.  Most recently, Pillay was responsible for developing the Group Aftersales Digitalization and Aftersales 2025 strategies.

In his new role, he leads the Volkswagen Group’s ongoing drive to improve the quality of customer experience at every touch point, as well as overseeing the Group’s aftersales services and business, including the Trade Parts Specialists and Paint and Body networks.

He said: “I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead as the company continues to expand mobility, digital and aftersales offerings.”

Volkswagen Group UK managing director Paul Willis said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Nithia on board.  His in-depth knowledge of the parts and aftersales market will be invaluable as we develop this growing area of our business.  I wish him every success in his new role.”
