Hertz Vans and Hertz 24/7 hourly van rentals are expecting to have another bumper Black Friday tomorrow (November 27) after both brands saw a rise last year.

The shopping extravaganza has overtaken Boxing Day as the biggest shopping event in the UK and has brought the Christmas van rental peak forward with consumers and companies needing extra space to transport purchases.

Last year Hertz van rentals increased by 15% during Black Friday, while Hertz 24/7 hourly van rentals increased by 11% versus the previous weekend

Laura Moran, commercial vehicle director at Hertz UK, said: “In 2014 we had a surge in retail bookings combined with the parcel delivery companies taking additional vans to cope with the higher demand.

"This year we are expecting similar increases from the parcel delivery companies, who are becoming more organised following last year’s unprecedented demand levels.

"These companies, started securing their additional vans from us back in the summer to ensure that they had Black Friday and Christmas’ demand peaks all wrapped up.”
