General Traffic, which deliver parts to garages, shops and workshops across the North-West and beyond, has added 10 Mercedes-Benz Citans to its fleet of 150 vans.

Its first Mercedes-Benz vehicles arrived via dealer Ciceley Commercials. All Long-bodied Citan 109 CDIs, they have replaced models by a rival manufacturer.

Transport manager Zubair Bhaiji said: “Having heard good things I’d been looking at the Citan for a while. I’m delighted that we now have some on the fleet – they’re fantastic vans, clearly built to a high standard, smart-looking and already popular with our drivers.

“These are early days of course, but we have every confidence that they’ll also provide the outstanding reliability and durability for which the Mercedes-Benz brand is renowned.”

Given its aim to deliver stock parts to customers within just one hour of an order being placed, maximising vehicle ‘uptime’ is crucial to General Traffic.

“We pride ourselves on providing the very best customer service so we demand the same from our suppliers,” continued Bhaiji. “The Citans are superb but we also need to know that should we need it, we will also receive fast, responsive back-up. The fact that Ciceley Commercials’ workshops are open round-the-clock means the dealer is ideally placed to keep our vans working hard whenever we need them.”

Operations manager Paul Tonge added: “Ciceley’s sales executive Mike Holmes was excellent throughout the acquisition process. He kept us fully informed all the way and the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services hire purchase package was very competitively priced.

“Meanwhile the manufacturer’s three-year, unlimited mileage warranties and the brilliant Mercedes-Benz MobiloVan cover on these vehicles, which includes free roadside assistance for up to 30 years, are also huge plus points.”
