What are the VED bands for new cars?

VED rates table for vehicles registered on or after April 1 2017 - Updated rates effective from April 1 2019

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED), or Road Tax, is the annual charge required to use a vehicle on the road.

First year rate:

The standard rate is payable annually for all vehicles from the second year of registration. Vehicles with a list price exceeding £40,000 must pay a £320 supplement for the five years after the first year.
