We now have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Logistics Manager to join our team based at our Burgess Hill site.
As the Assistant Logistics Manager, you will assist in the safe, compliant and cost-effective management of bulk haulage activities within the West Sussex contract, and to ensure that they are carried out in a safe, professional, economical and timely manner in accordance with current legislation, and company policies and procedures. You will also aim to maximise haulage rates, productivity and efficiency, ensuring that all targets and objectives are met or exceeded.
The Assistant Logistics Manager will be responsible for the bulk artic, RORO and ADR fleet, drivers, administrative staff and logistics staff; working closely with the HWRC and MRF functions to maximise profitability and efficiency for the contract and client.
A Key part of this job role is to liaise and communicate effectively with all other internal departments within Viridor as well as external agencies such as DVSA, HSE, planners and contractors as required.
Our ideal Assistant Logistics Manager will have:
- A proven track record of supervising a logistical operation successfully
- Experience of preparing budgets, forecasts and month end reports
- Proven track record of delivering commercial targets
- Knowledge of road transport and relevant environmental legislation
- Knowledge of complex reports and KPI's and how they are used within a Logistics business
- Full CPC National for road transport and Full driving licence
- IOSH managing safely or equivalent
- Knowledge of P&L and accounting procedures
- An excellent working knowledge of the waste and recycling market within West Sussex
