Our client, a top Food Logistics company is looking for a Backhaul Manager to join their growing business in Greater Manchester. This role will include identifying new opportunities with existing and new clients.

Your New Role

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

Managing and fulfilling backhaul availability and capacity
Liase with various departments for potential leads and growth opportunities
Agreeing and reviewing rate plans for customers
Compliance with all Heath and Safety and Hygiene legislation
Ensure current driver resource and existing fleet is effectively optimised
Develop timelines and schedules
Identity continuous improvement opportunities
Achieve business financial targets
Travel across the country to the various sites

What You Will Need To succeed

We are looking for candidates with the following skills, experience and attributes:

Experience working in a similar role within a transport environment
Food knowledge – desirable
Commercial minded and the ability to negotiate rates
Excellent geographical knowledge
Valid UK driver’s license
Management experience
