The Role Having served over 600,000 customers we are the largest independent bathroom retailer in the UK and here at Better Bathrooms we do things the "better" way; Better Prices, Better Service, Better Bathrooms. Due to growth, an exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and driven Group Transport Manager to join us. 

As Group Transport Manager, you will run an efficient and legally compliant transport department, meeting the needs of the business in a cost efficient and sustainable way. You will manage the day-to-day operation of the transport department, providing an outstanding and professional service. Managing two transport offices across two sites (Leigh and Didcot) and a team of approximately 90 drivers, drivers mates and operations staff, your main responsibilities will include:

Ensure the safe delivery of products and the administration of paperwork to a high quality standard.
Ensure all cost, quality and performance targets are acheived.
monitor costs and negotiate contract rates with all transport suppliers. 
Maximize FTS.
Ensure minimum damage to products and property.
Quality standards.
Operational documentation.
Manage the routing system and maximize all routes accordingly whilst staying within all legal regulations.
Investigate and resolve any stock issues or damanged goods/property in a timely manner.
Drivers and vehicles are kept within the rules and regulations regarding tachograph, working time directive and driver's hours regulations.

The ideal Group Transport Manager will be reliable with excellent communication skills, as well as a strong man-manager with a passionate attitude towards customer service.

Ability to manage a team remaining calm under pressure
Organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisation, planning and decision making skills
Personal and positive drive with a lifelong learner attitude
Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks
Knowledge of office software and general computer systems
