About The Business:
We're looking for an experienced Transport Manager to join a local large employer with a large fleet of specialized HGVs.
You will be CPC qualified and have experience managing a large fleet of HGV's. You'll have experience managing a team and you'll have input in helping this part of the business grow.

As Head of Fleet your responsibilities will include leading the development and improvement provided by the fleet using new team plans and researching new technologies to keep the fleet up to date and help efficiency.
Other duties will include:
Ensuring fleet compliance with all road transport legislation and industry best practice by implementing new policies, procedures and processes.
Procure vehicles and plant by achieving the best value for money using company budget in line with company spending.
Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including working relationships with Union representatives.
Be wholly responsible for the health and safety for all staff both on site and out in the field and promote a culture of effective health and safety risk control.
Be qualified with a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
Demonstrate knowledge of and experience in health and safety.
Have knowledge of trends and innovations in fleet management, vehicles and technologies.
Have a full understanding of key legislation relating to Fleet Management and that of driving, cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy goods vehicles and plant.
Have great time and workload management skills and be able to plan your own day to work most effectively.
Have in-depth knowledge of Fleet Management principles and systems.
Ideally have experience dealing with a unionized environment.
