Our client is a leading service provider specialising in venue & event management services. They work in partnership with leading sports and entertainment venues throughout the UK, providing a number of services including; internal and external traffic management, car parking services, security & stewarding and crowd management services. This role will efficiently and effectively manage all aspects of our client’s logistics function to enable the operations team to deliver exemplary operational services within budget to all of our client’s clients.
This role will report to the Head of Operations and will be based at our client’s Head Office/warehouse in Croxley Green. However, regular national travel to operational sites will be required.
Responsibilities of the Logistics Manager:
Day-to-day responsibility for the facilities management of our client’s warehouse, ensuring that the facility complies with all relevant H&S legislation.
Responsible for the development, implementation and management of robust processes and procedures to ensure that the distribution of all operational assets is accurately recorded, distributed, tracked and returned at all times.
Responsible for the management and maintenance of our client’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring that every vehicle is roadworthy and that all legal requirements are met.
Maintain efficient warehouse practices to ensure that adequate stock levels are retained to supply all operational aspects of our client’s business and that efficient and effective distribution plans are implemented to support the Operations team.
Provide line management to all members of the Logistics team, with a focus on proactive mentoring, development, training and team succession planning.
Provide support to the Operations team by assisting with planning and operational duties as and when required (dependent on the Logistics operational workload).
Requirements of the Logistics Manager:
At least 2 years’ experience in successfully managing a logistics function/stores operation, preferably within a service delivery or related industry.
Proven experience in the leadership, development and management of a small team.
Excellent forward planning and organisation skills.
Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
Class 2 HGV Driving Licence
IOSH or NEBOSH
23 days paid holiday per year, rising to 25 days
