THE COMPANY:

Brewster Partners are working closely with our client, a large market leader within manufacturing, to recruit a suitably experienced Logistics Department & Distribution Manager to manage their distribution. The role would suit a Transport Manager, Distribution Manager, Logistics Manager or similar who can commute to Doncaster. The role is easily accessible from Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Wakefield.

THE JOB:

The job involves working within this large manufacturing firm and managing and overseeing the transport and distribution of loads around the country. Key areas of responsibilities:

Team management of Transport Planners and Administrators, Invoicing Clerks - team of 8 direct reports and 96 driver-team
Managing all dispatching, routing and delivery vehicle tracking activities
Planning, organising and managing work of the team
Implementing schedule and policy changes
Collaborating with other managers to implement improvements to policies and procedures
Monitoring operations to ensure compliance with government regulations, union contracts and safety rules
Conducting safety audits and representing the team at company safety meetings
Monitoring expenditure for the department
Overseeing the work of repair and maintenance staff for trailers and equipment
Working closely with other teams to optimise fleet efficiencyThis is a management level role and a great opportunity to join this successful business in a pivotal position.

THE PERSON:

To be successful in your application you need to be able to demonstrate recent and relevant experience in a Transport Manager, Distribution Manager, Delivery Manager or Logistics Manager role or similar. We're looking for someone who can lead and develop the team and represent the department at company meetings, bringing improvements and optimisation. In addition you will need:

CPC holder
Transport/logistics experience in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership and management experience
Up to date knowledge of Health & Safety and compliance within a logistics and transport environment
Strong IT skills
Effective communicator at all levels both internally and externallyTHE BENEFITS:
