ATHERSTONE, WARWICKSHIRE

CIRCA £50,000 PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS

This successful, award-winning, global company are experiencing seismic growth and require a Logistics Manager to join their hardworking and dedicated Corporate Logistics and Service department - at their modern headquarters in Atherstone.

As a key member of this harmonious and highly effective team, the Logistics Manager ensures that all products are transported from suppliers across the globe to regional distribution centres across the UK. It is essential that every stage of the supply chain operates smoothly, efficiently and cost-effectively.

The Logistics Manager’s role is varied, challenging and demanding:

Strategic planning to ensure all goods are delivered in perfect condition and on time
Constantly reviewing cost-saving opportunities with warehouse and distribution departments and developing operational plans for implementation
Obtaining transport rates from logistics service providers and ensuring they operate within guidelines on-time and within budget
Regular meetings and audits with logistic service providers to ensure high standards are maintained
Maintaining a register of domestic and international freight costs and currency rates and monitor fuel costs
Recruiting, managing and developing a team of Logistics Assistants

All applicants for this Logistics Manager role must have at least a 2:1 degree and:

Membership of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) would be advantageous
Background in the retail sector would be useful e.g. supermarkets, department stores, retail outlets, shops
Strong background in logistics and supply chain
Passionate about looking after the supply chain form the source to end user
Leadership and management experience with the desire to develop the team to their full potential
Previous experience of managing 3PL (third-party logistics)
Management of budgets and implementation of cost savings
Dynamic, resourceful and tenacious
