Logistics Manager

£50,000 - £65,000 based on experience
Pension (up to 8% matched)
25 days’ leave + 8 Bank Holidays

Location: Northamptonshire – Commutable from Corby, Kettering, Northampton, Daventry, Wellingborough, Market Harborough, Towcester and Thrapston

The role of the Logistics Manager will be as follows:

To provide leadership to the logistics function to ensure that the business objectives are achieved
Direct management of the logistics team – providing leadership, support, mentoring, 1-2-1’s and setting objectives
To manage and upgrade current SOP’s and to implement new and robust SOP’s where required
To ensure a smooth and efficient management of all logistics activities across the business
To take part in daily, weekly and monthly operations meetings reporting on logistics KPI’s, issues, improvements and countermeasures
The optimisation of all resources will be a key aspect of the role particularly labour, production inventory levels and warehouse space
To have total accountability for stocks, stock accuracy, inventory value and to manage any delivery shortages
To outline cost-saving exercise throughout the logistics process – continuous improvement
To ensure a safe operation of all warehouse operations ensuring they comply with HSE procedures and legislation
To regularly review and report customer delivery performances outlining issues and countermeasures

Experience & background required for the role of Logistics Manager:

Experienced Logistics Manager that has worked in a medium to fast-paced engineering/manufacturing organisation
Experienced leader/manager with a proven track record in leading and managing teams
A demonstratable track record in logistics continuous improvement activities, introducing SOP’s and cost savings
Strong IT and communication skills
Full EU driving licence
