We are currently recruiting for a market leading global manufacturing company in Warrington who are seeking a proactive Logistics Manager to lead the logistics team. You will have experience in a similar role and come from a fast paced tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment so that you are familiar with the daily pressures within tier 1.
Day to day you will report directly into the Plant Director and be responsible for the Logistics function on site consisting of direct management of 7 people. You will be responsible for on time deliveries to customers while constantly reducing inventory levels and costs alongside constantly looking for improvements to the supply chain based on lean principles and best practices. You will also be responsible for managing the upstream, downstream and internal physical and information flow within the plant. As you will familiar with a tier 1 environment, you will understand the critical nature of delivering on time and the pressures within the industry and be flexible to react to these when required.
Qualifications and Skills
Tier 1 Automotive manufacturing experience absolutely essential, can also consider tier 2 experience
Have experience of working with JLR currently or previously
Be very flexible in general – extra hours as and when necessary
Knowledgeable of Lean principles and TPM
‘Get on with it’ attitude
Good computer and data analysis competency – SAP, Excel
Excellent communication across all levels
