A leading automotive manufacturer are seeking a MP&L Manager to join their Materials Planning and Logistics team for a 6 month interim contract. You will be working for a multinational Tier 1 automotive organisation who develop, design and manufacture automotive parts in a fast moving JIT/ JIS assembly operation

MP&L Manager

6 month interim contract

Pay: £250- £300 per day

Location: Worcestershire, commutable from Birmingham, Solihull, Redditch, Worcester, Droitwich, Gloucester areas

Duties:

As the MP&L Manager you will organise the ordering and distribution of goods, leading the communication to customer. Ensure that the right products are delivered to the facility, on time and at correct cost. You will also be involved in transportation, scheduling, stock integrity & part evolution through internal sub-assembly management.

o Ensure the continuous flow of vehicle components from supplier to warehouse and to customer in a timely and quality manner

o Improve and manage container utilization to reduce costs

o Setting up and maintaining of schedules for all new raw materials / consumables etc

o Control of warehouse activities including; Material receipt, Despatch of finished goods, Issue of raw materials to production

o Monitoring of planned vs. actual sales

o Control of materials management, including; FIFO and Invoice Reconciliation

o Management of special transport

o Manage the stock accuracy of inventory by ensuring stock takes are undertaken and reported as requested

o Report monthly Key Performance Indicators

Experience:

Applications are sought from experienced Material Planning, Supply Chain Managers or Logistics Managers or Logistics Managers with previous automotive manufacturing experience, preferably with JIT/ sequencing background

o IT literate and some knowledge of SAP

o Must have good verbal and written communication skills to direct employees and prepare KPI reports

o Ability to act decisively to resolve problems and manage risk
