About our client
Our client a successful logistics and distribution company based in the Evesham area is seeking an Transport manager to join their company. This position is permanent and will be part time, working 3 - 4 days per week. The purpose of the role is to take responsibility for managing the compliance for the O-Licence.

Commutable distances to Evesham, include, Redditch, Worcester, Pershore and the surrounding areas.

Role Requirements:
Ensuring all drivers comply with drivers hours and tachograph rules and adhere to legislation
Ensuring that vehicles are maintained properly, including the inspection of vehicles at the appropriate time and implementing actions to remedy any defects found
Ensuring vehicle fleet is managed effectively, vehicle compliance and vehicle servicing checks etc and where necessary escalating any identified issues and recommending resolutions
Responsible for dealing with Driver infringements and the management of these
Being present and undertaking driver debriefings
Manage and implement new Taco system driving forward change and ensuring the implementation process is carefully monitored.
Management of the transport team to ensure motivation and that an understanding of all legislative requirements is communicated across the team
Making and maintaining all necessary records to ensure adherence / compliance to legislative and environmental requirements including any third -party insurance claims
Maintaining records and systems to ensure that the vehicles are not overloaded
Ensuring that all authorised vehicles will be kept at the authorised opening centre(s) when not in use
Actively developing the Transport team in increasing engagement, communication and people development and seeking to improve and maintain people and processes including KPI's.
Effective and regular liaising with all other relevant department to ensure efficiency across projects
Managing and collating necessary information and documentation
Successful Candidate
Proven experience of working in a similar role at the same level, leading and managing teams including drivers.
Proven experience working in a distribution, logistics or supply chain environment
CPC Holder (National/International)
Proven experience dealing with traffic management, VOSA Compliance is an integral part of the role and therefore and essential requirement
Proven ability to be a logical thinker able to problem solve effectively
The ability to work unsupervised, continually managing time and prioritising work to meet tight deadlines
Proven ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent communication skills, be able to interact and engage people at all levels both internally and externally
Excellent geographical Knowledge is required
The successful candidate will have experience in managing change and implementing new processes.
