Programme Logistics Manager
Contract: 4 months initially
Rate: £(Apply online only) per day (Inside IR35)
You will overseeing and ensuring continuity and compliance as the programme progresses of the contractors' logistics supply chain, monitoring the development and optimisation of site logistics solutions to meet the needs of the estate and to ensure continuity of approach and integration between various project streams including the business as usual element. You will be required to maintain a high-level understanding of the movement of people, goods and equipment across the programme.
Ensuring continuity and adequate communication between key stakeholders, project teams, construction contractors and internal parliamentary staff you will maintain strategic overview of all programme activity across the parliamentary estate ensuring risk is assessed adequately and safety and security standards are maintained during all stages of the construction process.
Reviewing RAMS produced by the contractors covering all activities carried out by the projects.
Reviewing and commenting on the internal and external logistics routes through the project phases focusing on separation of vehicles, machinery and people, lay down areas and offloading points. As produced by the contractors.
Daily liaison with the project managers and contractors on behalf of the client to establish the delivery strategy, timing and critical logistics management issues affecting the site.
Monitoring the handling of materials inside the building in accordance with agreed strategy.
Reviewing and commenting on the waste management and monitoring / reporting system for the project.
Coordinating with the gate security team to enable the safe pedestrian/traffic.
Ensuring the contractors are providing safe vehicular traffic routes through the site and regularly reviewing site traffic routes. This shall include the erection and maintenance of safety signs and barriers for the site roads, to be reviewed as and when required.
Ensuring the contractors have provided adequate and suitable directional and safety signage and that it is in place, clear in its instruction and visible to all.
Ensuring the contractors are updating all the Project Logistics and Fire drawings as needed and ensuring the management of fire points, fire strategy and plans are updated as the site evolves.
Developing and implementing a good neighbour policy in conjunction with the contractors.
The policy is to include for local businesses, private residents and the general public.
Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks. This includes security vetting to Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) level or higher, as described in the job description. All successful candidates are required to pass these checks before an offer can be confirmed.
Skills and Experience
A transport related qualification or equivalent experience.
Membership of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
